About Benchmark ELDER CARE

Pat Morris, Director of Development

Wanting to put his extensive Boomer experience to work in this emerging market, Pat has joined Benchmark Elder Care.  Benchmark offers two distinctive and proprietary products.

The consumer product assists those Boomers searching for an elder care facility for themselves or a loved one. Benchmark provides a survey and search function, which determines which facilities match the needs of their client.

The business product evaluates performance and provides advice to the elder care facilities themselves, to better prepare them for the increasing demands of today’s retirees and the emerging Baby Boomer market.

Pat Morris has over thirty years experience in the hospitality industry as a Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Owner/Operator.

Pat began his hospitality career in marketing at PepsiCo.  It is here that Pat first began his quest to prepare businesses for the impact of the Baby Boom generation’s demands for higher quality, better service and more menu variety.

In 1985, he joined Perkin's Restaurants as Executive Vice-President, helping to re-energize the concept by becoming more appealing to the Baby Boom generation, each year experiencing comparable store sales growth and improved profits.  He repeated this performance at Tony Roma's from 1990-1993.

In I994, Pat moved to Houston as President/COO of Casa Ole' Restaurants.  Again repositioning the concept to better serve the needs of a growing and demanding Baby Boomer market.  His management team took the company public in 1995.  During his tenure, the company achieved comparable sales growth and dramatically improved profits.

Pat then decided to utilize his in-depth knowledge of the “Boomer” market to help independent businesses better position themselves strategically and operationally to meet the demands of the Baby Boomers.  He began working with the Ala' Carte Foodservice Consulting Group in 2001.

Most recently, Pat has helped a regional, Italian family restaurant concept to develop new operational and marketing programs to better position itself to grow via the Baby boomer influence.

Now, the Baby Boomers, who have impacted the restaurant segment of hospitality so dramatically over the last years, are close to retirement and are about to enter a new segment of hospitality – elder care.  They are evaluating elder care communities for their parents now and themselves later.

Pat has been a guest speaker and panelist at many industry conferences, as well as being a member of the National Restaurant Association's Marketing Executives. He has also contributed feature articles to the national magazine for independent operators, Restaurant Startup & Growth.
